WHITHAM Gordon Died peacefully after a short illness at the JR Hospital on 22nd November 2017. Loving Father of Andrew, Sarah and Emma. Funeral Service at Oxford Crematorium on Thursday 7th December at 10am. All enquiries to The Co-operative Funeralcare, Summertown. 01865 310907

To all who grieve and miss Gordon, I want to add my sincere condolences and to say that Gordon Whitham was a treasure in my life. He was my DPhil supervisor at Oxford and I considered him a friend. We had lost touch the past few years after many years of corresponding. I am sad not to have known that he was ill. He brought great joy and delight to chemistry and I am honoured to have known him. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all. I join you in feeling his loss. Best wishes, Janet Day
