YOUNG Roy Frederick Passed peacefully away on 27th April aged 83 years. The much loved husband and soulmate of Carol and a beloved father to Caroline, Rikki and Michele. He will be greatly missed. The funeral will be on Tuesday 15th May, 1.00pm at Oxford Crematorium. Family flowers only but donations if desired to Alzheimer's Research UK, c/o S & R Childs Funeral Services, 69 London Road, Headington OX3 9AA.

Roy, what a fantastic career and involvement with so many great musicians, and your own work stands beyond examination. After seeing you several times and hearing you on record, CD, and radio we eventually met years later in of all places a supermarket car park. We spoke for ages of your time and your music and the people you worked with a career which is vast, as wide as the horizon, and while playing with and for others your own distinctive style was superb. Long may you be remembered not only as a great musician but as a decent guy who would stop to engage with his public and enjoy the experience, a true gent . The world has lost a wonderful talent and a great man. My condolences to your wife and family of course.

So very sad to learn of your passing dear Roy. Your music was such a huge part of my life from when I was about 15 and I was so pleased to get back in touch with you (and Carol x) a few years ago. Thanks for the memories, the Fontana singles you gave me and my sincere condolences to Carol and thechildren
