I first met Michael in Athens in1995; and we became firm friends.
He was a wonderful, intelligent man - a raconteur, par excellence, who delighted me over our many dinners and journeys with his knowledge and wit.
I will greatly miss him, a light has gone out of my life.

Mike was a true gentleman and a friend and those who knew him will miss him greatly. He served his country with great pride and the utmost professionalism and honour. But most of all he was a caring man who would be only too pleased to help anyone who needed it. This world is a poorer place without him. It was an honour to be your friend Mike. Go in Peace.
