WEST Sylvia Elizabeth Died peacefully on 3rd July 2023 aged 86 of Newbridge House, Weston on the Green. Wife of the late Graham and devoted mother of Rebecca. The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 26th July 2023 at the North Oxfordshire Crematorium. Light refreshments will follow. Flowers only from Newbridge House garden. Donations if desired to Cancer Research UK or Woodland Trust. Please email oak777oak@aol.com or text 07988131681 if attending.

Mrs West was a great Deputy Head Master when I was at Wheatley Park School. May she rest in Peace.

I was a teacher at Wheatley park school and I was always impressed at how kind Sylvia was to all her staff when we had a problem .She insisted on putting family first and I always appreciated it .She had a very kind and gentle side to her which I feel is essential in a senior member of staff .
I was happy working there when she was deputy head .

Very sad to hear this. Mrs West was an amazing lady who was Deputy Head of WPS and a fabulous History teacher. She was very kind and fair. I loved the way she much respected even by those who got on the wrong side of her.
She read at both my parents funerals and we always exchanged Christmas cards. She was a great influence to me and I think a legend. Our thoughts are with her beloved Becca. With huge admiration of a life well lived. RIP. Sue Bradbury (nee Slater)
