Banbury MP Victoria Prentis has been promoted to be the minister of state at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in Boris Johnson’s cabinet reshuffle.
Mrs Prentis tweeted: “I am delighted to have been appointed Minister of State at DEFRA by the Prime Minister.
“It is a great honour to be in this role at such an important time for UK agriculture, fisheries and food.”
Mrs Prentis had been the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Farming, Fisheries and Food at DEFRA.
She has been the MP for Banbury since 2015.
