OXFORD MAGISTRATES' COURT

ANDREW READING, 44, of Oxpen Piece, Great Milton, was spared a driving ban as a repeat offender after arguing that his family – including two small children and his elderly mother – would face exceptional hardship if he was banned. He admitted doing 55mph on the 40mph limit A41 near Bicester and speeding at six mph above the limit on Banbury Road, Kidlington. He was fined £200, ordered to pay £124 and given six points.

ELLIS YOUDS, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to drink driving a Peugeot 307 on Station Road, Grove, last December, and driving it dangerously, without insurance or a licence. He was jailed for eight weeks, banned from the roads for two years and must pass an extended retest. The magistrates ordered he pay a £128 victim surcharge.

TAMZIN CANE, 20, of Stratford Street, Oxford, was given a two year community order with a three day curfew after she admitted beating two police officers and a man in Cardinal Close, Oxford, last June. She must comply with an alcohol abstinence tag and pay £350 in compensation.

ARTUR SKRETOWSKI, 33, of Linacre Close, Didcot, admitted drug driving a Ford Transit in Headington. He was over the limit for cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine. He also admitted being concerned in the production of cannabis resin. He was fined £120, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge.

JOSEPH SANTOS, 33, of Market End Way, Bicester, pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of champagne from Sainsburys. He was given a 12 month community order with a 14 week curfew and a drug rehabilitation requirement. He must pay £84 compensation to the store. Santos also pleaded guilty to failing to provide a urine sample after being stopped on suspicion of committing a driving offence and was banned from the roads for 15 months.

GEORGIE ALLSWORTH, 25, of Bayswater Mill Road, Headington, pleaded guilty to speeding on the A41 at Bicester. She was clocked doing 71mph in the 40 zone. She was fined £507, given five points and ordered to pay £141 in costs and surcharge.

ADU BAFFOUR, 30, of Clarkes Court, was found to have failed to pay for 196 journeys on the Chiltern Railways network between October 2, 2020 and July 5 this year – clocking up a £3,618 bill in skipped fares. He was fined £660 by magistrates and ordered to pay £3,618.50 in compensation. Baffour must pay a £66 victim surcharge and £179 in costs.

IMRAN TAYLOR, 26, of Merganser Drive, Bicester, admitted not paying for 76 railway tickets worth more than £2,230 between January 2018 and June 2021. He was fined £261, ordered to pay £495 in compensation and £213 in costs and surcharge.

MARTIN EDWARDS, 50, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted nine charges of stealing bottles of spirits from Tesco. He was given a 12 month community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement. He must pay almost £350 in compensation to the retailer.

DAVID PRICE, 76, of Shenington, was fined £380 and banned from driving for 21 days after he pleaded guilty to speeding on Stratford Road, Wroxton. He was doing 42mph in the 30 zone. He must pay £128 in costs and surcharge.

SHANE NORTH, 27, of Villeboys Close, Abingdon, was fined £100 for speeding on Mably Way, Grove. He was given four penalty points and ordered to pay £124 in costs and surcharge.

TONY SHELDRICK, 24, of Warwick Road, Banbury, was found to have driven without insurance in Sainsbury’s car park. He received six penalty points, was fined £660 and ordered to pay £156 in costs and surcharge.

DANYELLA BESSASA-GRANT, 27, of Chillingworth Crescent, Oxford, admitted speeding on the A41. She was fined £443, given six points and ordered to pay £134 in costs and surcharge.

ANTHONY CURRELL, 54, of Edinburgh Drive, Kidlington, was caught doing almost 100mph on a 60mph limit road. He admitted driving at 98mph on the A4 Bath Road near Newbury in May. The magistrates fined him £491, imposed six points and ordered he pay £139 in costs and surcharge.

ROGER HURLEY, 63, of Lytton Road, Oxford, was found guilty in his absence of threatening behaviour. He was given a 12 month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay £200 compensation, £300 costs and a £95 victim surcharge.

KALLUM HASSAM, 24, of McKeevor Place, Banbury, was fined £333 after he admitted assaulting a woman in Banbury. He was ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge.

GLEN FORD, 52, of no fixed address, admitted damaging a Thames Valley Police Astra vehicle and Vivaro van on consecutive days in July. He was fined £80, must pay £738 in compensation and £119 in costs and surcharge. The magistrates sentenced him to 10 days imprisonment in default of the financial payments, with the court record noting he ‘refused to pay the said financial sums whilst in court’.

CHLOE BARGET, 38, of Main Road, Long Hanborough, admitted speeding at 36mph on Banbury Road, Oxford. She was fined £66, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and given three penalty points.

WILLIAM BRANDHAN, 31, of Upper Heyford, near Bicester, admitted speeding at 35mph on Botley Road, Oxford. He was fined £53, must pay £124 in costs and surcharge and received three penalty points.

CHRISTOFER HUBER, 31, of Ash Close, Watlington, was found to have been speeding at 67mph on the A41 at Bicester. He was fined £660, given six points and ordered to pay £156 in costs and surcharge.

ISOBEL IVINSON, 26, of Marjoram Way, Didcot, failed to identify the driver of a speeding Nissan. She was fined £660, was given six points and ordered to pay £156 in costs and surcharge.

ROBERT JEACOCK, 52, of Woodpiece Road, Upper Arncott, was fined £440 for speeding on Ardley Road, Middleton Stoney, in April. He was given four points and must pay £134 in costs and surcharge.

HENRYKA MAJCHER-KOZIOL, 40, of St Marys Road, Adderbury, pleaded guilty to speeding in the village. She was fined £66, given three points and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.

BRIDGET MAUGHN, 29, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, was fined £660 and given six points for failing to identify to police a speeding VW driver. She must pay £156 in costs and surcharge.

HANNAH MORGAN, 34, of Peppard Lane, Henley-upon-Thames, pleaded guilty to speeding on the A4155 at Shiplake. She was fined £66, given three points and must pay a £34 victim surcharge.

CARMELITA DA CONCEICAO NEVES, 36, of Lytton Road, Oxford, admitted speeding on Banbury Road, Oxford, in April. She was fined £100, given three points and must pay £124 in costs and surcharge.
