Oxford has a huge number of Thai restaurants which serve traditional dishes from the country, as well as wider Asian food.

The city is lucky enough to have nearly 20 restaurants which serve cuisine from Thailand, with another one due to open soon.

Restaurant group Busaba secured the former Pint Shop site on George Street as part of its expansion plans outside London.

These are the 10 best Thai restaurants in Oxford, according to TripAdvisor

Oli’s Thai

38 Magdalen Rd, Oxford OX4 1RB

Oli’s Thai on Magdalen Road was opened in August 2013 by Ladd and Ru Thurston. The small restaurant holds only five tables and offers a different menu each week, based on seasonal changes.

The restaurant is featured on the Michelin website and has had a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last four years.

A Bib Gourmand recognises establishments that serve good food at moderate prices and is awarded to those who offer ‘good quality’ and ‘good value cooking’.

Oli’s Thai is set to close its doors in 2022, before a new deli opens on the site.

Banana Tree Oxford

63 George St, Oxford OX1 2BQ

The restaurant describes itself as a pan-Asian fest, stating: “We hand pick the best dishes from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia to feature on our menu, from soups and salads, to wok-tossed noodles, stir fries and curries, as well as South-East Asia-inspired desserts and cocktails.”

Banana Tree Oxford has a score of 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor, with many guests rating it as ‘excellent’.

Chiang Mai Kitchen

130A High St, Oxford OX1 4DH

This restaurant offers a wide selection of Thai dishes, with a separate vegan menu as well for those who need it.

Chiang Mai Kitchen was established in 1993 and takes its name from a city in northern Thailand, with the aim of providing authentic, cooked-to-order food.

The team say they “take pride” in Chiang Mai Kitchen’s “unique history”.

Sasi Thai

This Thai is located in the heart of Oxford’s Covered Market.

TripAdvisor reviewers have praised the restaurant for its food, portion sizes and prices.

One of the bigger chain Thai restaurants, this branch on George Street has received pretty positive reviews from people in the city.

Many having taken to the review site’s food and friendly service, giving it an overall score of four stars.

The White Horse Inn Thai Restaurant

The White Horse Inn has glowing reviews from guests who praised the food, atmosphere, flavours and service.

One reviewer even took to the site to call it the best Thai in a ’50 mile radius’.

Pan Pan

Pan Pan serves a wide selection of tapas style sharing dishes with a smaller choice of main dishes.
