Paedophile’s house of horrors

Paedophile Bernard Moore filmed his sexual abuse of underage boys on ‘spy cams’ hidden in his house of horrors – then uploaded the footage to the internet.

The 57-year-old gave the films titles that hinted at their sick content. One of the films uploaded to a Russia-based pornographic site contained the words ‘teen boy spy cam’ while another was ‘spy cam: he’s at it again’.

His twisted behaviour was unmasked late last year when Australian police stumbled across the videos online. The films had been uploaded by someone whose website username contained Moore’s date of birth, Oxford Crown Court heard.

Sending him down for 13 years and four months, Judge Lamb told bearded Moore: “You were an utterly malign influence in their lives. You used each of them for your own sexual gratification.”

Dealers caught outside McDonald's

West Midlands teen Duran Watson was just 15 when he was caught outside an Oxford McDonald’s – part of a drug dealing party that had come down on the train from Wolverhampton.

In March 2019, he was caught dealing drugs in Staffordshire together with a man in his 50s.

Then, four months later, on July 14, 2019, he was with older boy Rayon Saunders when the pair were stopped by police in Cornmarket, Oxford.

Saunders, then 16, had £500-worth of crack cocaine and heroin in his sock, which he unsuccessfully sought to persuade jurors earlier this year that he’d found underneath a bench outside McDonald’s.

Watson had the mobile phone on which was found bulk advertising messages offering illegal drugs for sale.

Judge Maria Lamb imposed a two year suspended custodial sentence on Wednesday. As part of the suspended sentence, Watson must complete 40 rehabilitation activity requirement sessions, a further 15 sessions with the ‘community rehabilitative services’ and 120 hours of unpaid work.

She told the defendant: “You’ve had a taste of what it is like to be in prison and let me make it clear that this is an order which the court expects that you will comply with.”

Raid after MDMA found

Drug dealer Jon Terry’s enterprise was discovered when Border Force officials intercepted a parcel stuffed with MDMA.

That led police officers in Oxfordshire to Terry’s Witney home, where they discovered more drugs, including cannabis and ketamine.

As he was being arrested, a phone in 24-year-old Terry’s pocket kept ringing. The arresting police officer noted one of the calls came from a contact called ‘Jesco’ who, when he couldn’t get through to his dealer, sent a text asking ‘have you got any z [ounce of drugs]?’

Judge Michael Gledhill QC took an exceptional approach, imposing a two year prison sentence but suspending it for two years and ordering Terry to pay £5,750 in fines and prosecution costs.

He gave as his reasons for suspending the sentence the delay in the case coming to court and the fact Terry had stayed out of trouble, got a job and ‘proved he can be a good and honest citizen’.
