AN OXFORD Brookes University student has been killed by helicopter blades while on holiday with his family in Greece, national media are reporting.

Jack Fenton, 22, didn’t know the propeller was still spinning, with local reports suggesting he was taking a selfie when getting out of the helicopter.

Mr Fenton’s parents were reportedly in another aircraft on its way to the same spot in Spata, near Athens, following a flight from Mykonos.

Police have arrested three people following the tragic incident, which took place at about 6.20pm last night.

The pilot and two ground technicians were held for questioning and are due before a public prosecutor today, according to a state news agency.

Although emergency services rushed to the private helipad on the outskirts of the Greek capital, it is thought Mr Fenton died instantly.

Investigators are now looking at the circumstances of the incident and why the Brookes student exited the helicopter while the rotors were still spinning.
