A college has celebrated results day as 75 per cent of its students have been awarded a place at their first choice of university.
Abingdon and Witney College welcomed pupils back onto campus to collect their Level 3 results yesterday morning (Thursday, August 17).
A spokesperson for the college said: “Abingdon & Witney College would like to offer their congratulations to this year’s cohort on their brilliant results and excellent achievements, with over 90 per cent of students achieving their qualifications.
“Further, 75 per cent of students who applied to university have been awarded a place at their first choice, and 28 per cent of those who applied are continuing their education at Russell Group Universities, with three students progressing to Cambridge University from our Foundation Art course.
“Our first group of T Level students completed the new two-year industry focused qualifications in Computing and Education & Childcare and secured an impressive pass rate of 97 per cent.
“The students have repeatedly shown their dedication, ambition and determination to succeed in their chosen subjects.
“Their hard work has not gone unnoticed, and the college wishes each student the best of luck with their next steps, whatever they may be.”
College Principal Jacqui Canton said: “I am so proud of all our fantastic students. It really makes everything we do so worthwhile when you see so many happy students collecting their results and excited about their next steps. “I am sure we will see more of the same with GCSE results next week.”
