A man who served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) for 48 years has retired.
Master Aircrew Thomas Lee's career included a spell at RAF Brize Norton which he joined in March 2000.
He began his career in 1976 at RAF Scampton as an aircraft technician propulsion - a role he also held at RAF St Athan and RAF Finningley.
In January 1981 he earned an Aircrew Brevet after graduating flying training as an air engineer, following which he was posted to the Hercules fleet at RAF Lyneham.
He then moved to RAF Brize Norton, joining 216 Squadron and flying with the Tristar fleet.
May 2014 marked the end of Mr Lee's regular career and saw him take up the reservist role of officer commanding staff rides
As a keen military historian, his dedication to commemorating the service and sacrifices of past generations remained unwavering.
His initiatives led to numerous educational journeys to Europe, where he and his team explored the countries' military histories.
These trips included France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Norway and Poland with the Eagles Team.
These journeys were opportunities for remembrance and discovery, enabling comparisons of past events to the present day.
The Royal Air Force said they "bid a fond farewell" to Mr Lee, who is now set to enjoy his retirement.
