Robbery victims have been threatened with what they believed to be a knife before two offenders stole their shoes in a recent attack in a hamlet. 

Members of the public were approached in Preston Crowmarsh by the two offenders on Tuesday afternoon (June 18), Thames Valley Police said. 

One of the offenders allegedly produced what appeared to be the sheath of a knife - though police said the victims did not see the knife itself.

The offenders then demanded the victims hand over a pair of trainers and ran off in the direction of St Helen's Avenue and Mill Lane in Benson.

Preston Crowmarsh is a hamlet near Benson in south Oxfordshire. 

The Thames Valley Police priority crime team in Abingdon is appealing for witnesses after the robbery incident.

The team is asking for residents to review CCTV and doorbell footage in the area from June 18, from between 3.30pm and 4pm. 

Locals around the areas of Preston Crowmarsh, St Helen's Avenue, Benson and Mill Lane have been asked for their assistance. 

A statement issued by Thames Valley Police on Wednesday afternoon said: "Priority Crime Team, Abingdon, are appealing for witnesses after an incident of robbery where trainers were stolen. 

"We are requesting residents to review CCTV and doorbell footage in the area."

Preston Crowmarsh is just over two miles north east from Wallingford

The area of Preston Crowmarsh to Mill Lane in the southern part of Benson covers around one mile.
