CCTV has been released after an Oxford University College's bike shed gate lock was damaged and bikes stolen earlier this year. 

Thames Valley Police said an individual damaged the magnetic lock on the St Peter's College bike shed gate before stealing several bikes in the incident in the early hours of Saturday, May 18. 

The incident is believed to have taken place around 2.45am.

Thames Valley Police has now released CCTV of a man who may have information about the criminal damage incident - and police hope to speak to him about any information he may have. 

Investigating officer Susan Glass, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may recognise the man in the image to get in touch as he may have vital information about this incident.

“You can contact police by calling 101 or online quoting the reference 43240240963.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”

St Peter's College is in New Inn Hall Street in central Oxford. 

The CCTV footage shows a man in a beanie, a sports jacket and what appears to be the strap of a crossbody bag, standing next to several bikes. 

The footage indicates he may have a moustache or other facial hair.
