Police investigating the theft of a shop worker's phone have launched an appeal for information.

The theft happened at a shop on Thames Street in Eynsham at 1.15pm on Monday (June 24).

The man went into a shop and stole the employee's mobile phone.

He then went to another shop where he tried to use £200 worth of counterfeit cash to pay for items.

CCTV images of a man detectives would like to speak to in connection with the theft have been released by Thames Valley Police.

Investigating officer PC Liam Silcock said: “We are appealing to anyone who may recognise the man in the image to get in touch as he may have vital information about this incident."
