The latest court cases in Oxford Magistrates' Court:

JAKE SMITH, 34, of HMP Bullingdon, Bicester, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing harassment, alarm or distress using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on December 19 last year and two counts of theft from a shop. On December 9, he stole socks and alcohol to the value of £65 from a Co-Op in Oxford and £150 of alcohol from a Waitrose. He was ordered to pay £315 in compensation. There were no other orders for costs.

GEORGE STEVENS, 25, of The Old Dairy and Moreton, Thame, pleaded guilty to three counts of drug driving in Thame on January 7 this year as well as one count of possession of a Class A drug, namely a quantity of cocaine.  He was fined £883 and was disqualified from driving for 18 months. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £866.

ANITA BETTLE, 58, of Luther Street, Oxford, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft. On May 15, she stole alcohol, toothbrushes, bed linen and laundry detergent worth £380.35 from Tescos and on May 17 she stole £123 worth of clothing from Asda – both stores in Oxford. She was jailed for 12 weeks. There were no orders for costs.

COURTNEY ROMEO, 18, of Goodrington Close, Banbury, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug, namely a quantity of cannabis, in Bicester on June 12 this year. She was fined £50 and a forfeiture and destruction order was made for the drugs. There were court costs for £85.

RONNIE COLLINS, 21, of Alice Smith Square, Littlemore, pleaded guilty to one count of causing harassment, alarm or distress using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on February 6 this year in Oxford and one count using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence on the same day. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, namely two police officers, on the same day. He was given a community order to complete six months of alcohol treatment and up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity. He was also ordered to play £160 in compensation. There were also court costs of £100.

DANIEL DODSON, 34, of Sycamore Place, Burford, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Burford with 138 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months, reduced by 18 weeks, and fined £623. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £249.

TYLER SHARKEY, 27, of Crauford Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Oxford on January 11 this year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.

LUIS DA SILVA PEREIRA, 29, of Laggots Close, Faringdon, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Oxford on May 6 this year with 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, reduced by three months, and fined £460. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £184.
