A college is set to host skills sessions for unemployed adults.

ODS and Abingdon & Witney College have announced they will partner to host an Employability Skills Session on Wednesday, July 24.

Aimed at supporting unemployed adults in Oxfordshire, the afternoon session will take place at the Abingdon Campus.

The aim is to break down barriers to employment, providing participants with essential skills and knowledge.

Workshops and activities will include CV writing, interview preparation, apprenticeship and career advice, insights from industry leaders and networking opportunities.

Councillor Nigel Chapman, cabinet member for citizen focused services and council companies, said: "ODS is dedicated to “doing good” in the community and this is a fine example of the organisation doing just that.

"I want to encourage unemployed adults to sign up and get along to this event to enhance their skills and chances of getting their next job."

ODS HR manager, Stevie-Ann Bedwell, said: "By providing these employability skills, we hope to empower individuals in our community to overcome employment challenges and achieve their career goals."

Jennifer Collett, people services manager at the college, said: "Helping the local community with employability skills and their careers is important to us as a leading Further Education provider, so we are really looking forward to the day and our collaboration with ODS."
