A thief wearing a balaclava stole a bike from its owner in broad daylight at a village park.

The incident occurred at around 3.15pm on Sunday, July 7 in Steventon Road in Drayton.

The victim left his e-bike on the floor whilst talking to friends when the offender picked it up off the floor and rode off towards Abingdon.

The offender was described as wearing all black clothing, with a balaclava and gloves.

The bike is a Giant Phantom electric mountain bike in black with a blue stripe and is worth around £4,000.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing to the public for information following the theft.

Investigating Officer PC Laura Potter, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone with information about what happened, to please come forward.

“We are also asking anyone who may have dash-cam, or CCTV footage that could assist our enquiry to please come forward.
