The Smurfs, Bill and Ben, Ninja Turtles, Scooby Doo and Mr Tumble were just some of the costumes on display at this year's Witney Carnival.

Organisers said there was "a fabulous turnout" to see schools and local organisations, both walking groups and floats decorated on the theme Children’s TV Throughout The Ages.

Smurfs on motorbikes and several steam engines took part in the procession from the Leys and around the town centre.

Afterwards there was free entertainment including a pipe band, young dancers, a circus show, a small stage show, Morris dancers and a Circus of Fire show as well as six live music acts.

Meanwhile kids enjoyed a funfair with Zorbing Ball, teacup ride, swinging boat chairs, trampolines, an assault course, wipeout and a football goal as well as the traditional train.
