THE sentencing of a woman found guilty of not caring properly for five cats and a terrapin turtle has been delayed.

Ivy Rusher, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of failing in her duty to ensure the welfare of an animal on July 3 last year.

She failed to ensure five cats and a terrapin were provided a suitable environment, a suitable diet, and failing to ensure the animals exhibited normal behaviour patterns while living in Abingdon.

Rusher, formerly of an address in Abingdon, was found guilty alongside David Ebbsworth – who is being dealt with in separate court hearings.

The 38-year-old was due to be sentenced at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 16).

However, the case has now been adjourned until Wednesday, July 24 at 10am.
