A SENTENCING date has been set for a man who has admitted to sexually assaulting a woman in Banbury.

Hargutake Basra, of Weston Street, Walsall, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 23) charged with one count of sexual assault on a female.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence which took place on August 24 last year in Banbury. The complainant cannot be named in this case for legal reasons.

Basra admitted to intentionally sexually touching a woman when she did not consent and did not reasonably believe she was consenting.

His case has now been adjourned and a sentencing date has been set to take place at the same court on August 6.

He could face a prison sentence or/and fine.
