An Oxford restaurant has been named in the top 100 eateries in the UK by the Good Food Guide 2024.
Restaurant review bible The Good Food Guide has announced its annual 100 Best Local Restaurant list on Wednesday.
The list aims to celebrate the best of British dining with the awards highlighting independent restaurants from across the UK.
One restaurant from Oxford was named in the prestigious list as an unprecedented 60,000 votes were cast.

Pompette in South Parade in Summertown has been included in the prestigious list as a recognition of the owners’ efforts.
The French restaurant, charcuterie and wine bar is owned by Oxford Brookes alumni with French roots Pascal Weidemann and his wife Laura.
Pompette, named after the French word for tipsy, opened in late 2018 and started to garner impressive reviews after offering the residents of North Oxford something a little different.
The restaurant replaced Portabello in Summertown’s South Parade and has a rotating menu, predominantly serving predominantly French cuisine.

“Everything you see would be me and everything you eat would be Pascal,” Laura told the Oxford Mail at the time of opening.
“Everything has been chosen for a reason – my husband is a great advocate of seasonal produce and provenance. We have lots of local produce.
“We really thought about the (daily rotating) menu and everything we wanted from a restaurant.”
The Oxford Mail has approached Pompette for comment on their inclusion in the list.
