FOUR men assaulted and robbed a man near a charity shop in Didcot, police confirm.

At about 12.30am on Wednesday (July 24), four men assaulted and robbed a man near the British Heart Foundation shop on Broadway.

They stole £250 in cash and a wallet.

The victim, who is in his thirties, sustained minor injuries and required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged. 

A 39-year-old man from Didcot has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.

It is unknown where the other three men are or if they will later be arrested or/and charged by police.

Investigating officer Detective Constable James Clancy said: “I understand that this incident may cause concern but I would like to reassure the public that we are investigating this incident as a priority and have already made an arrest.

“I would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident to please get in touch with us.
