Endeavour star Shaun Evans has been spotted in the crowd at a Patti Smith concert this week.

The actor played a young Inspector Morse in the ITV crime drama series for 11 years between 2012 and 2023, becoming a firm fan favourite.

Endeavour, like Inspector Morse and Lewis before it, was largely filmed in Oxford and showcased several city landmarks throughout its run.

Fast forward to this summer and Mr Evans has been spotted watching on at a Patti Smith concert and taking photographs.

The 44-year-old is a keen photographer in his spare time and has made no secret of his admiration for the American singer.

“I've got the biggest crush on Patti Smith," said Mr Evans in 2015.

"I find her really inspiring. Her photographs are incredible, the poetry that she writes, and just her way of living.

"I'm totally gushing now, but as soon as I finished one of her books, I started it again, because I was so intoxicated with the atmosphere of it. She's something else."
