The FredFest music festival rocked crowds with a special appearance by Toploader over the weekend.

Wantage Town Football Club hosted the second edition of the music event on Saturday, August 3, bringing even more acts than its maiden year.

From BRIT-nominated band Toploader, tribute acts and local artists, crowds were entertained all afternoon and evening.

Before the event, the FredFest committee said: “Our fundraising team is busy getting everything ready to welcome you through the gates at the football club, so help us make this year’s FredFest music festival, the best one yet.

“Fundraising is hugely important to us as we improve our facilities at the football club and bring them up to various FA standards.

“You’ll notice improvements as you arrive at the club with improved changing facilities, water supply and safer site access etc, but we have bigger plans for the club in our drive to support our players and the local community.

“We’re working towards an all-weather solution for our pitches, which will serve our vast number of junior and adult teams here at the club as well as ensuring our long-standing commitment to providing facilities to local people, community groups and schools, is met.

“The ball is in motion for our 3G pitch, thanks to the success of funds raised after our first-ever FredFest music festival, back in 2019.

“However, these facilities do not come cheap and we need another injection of cash to keep the project on course.”
