A traffic warden who handed a ticket to a Mercedes driver in Oxford city centre has been assaulted.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 4 at approximately 1.10pm outside the Oxford Blue gift shop in High Street.

A traffic warden was assaulted after giving a ticket to a Mercedes people carrier.

The victim sustained bruising to the face, but no further hospital treatment was required.

Thames Valley Police has released an image of an individual officers would like to speak to in relation to the assault.

Investigating officer PC Thomas Hancock, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may recognise the individual in this image to please get in touch as they may have vital information about this incident.

“We are also asking anyone who may have dash-cam, or CCTV footage that could assist our enquiry to please come forward.
