POLICE have confirmed that no arrests have been made following two firearms incidents in Oxford. 

On Tuesday (August 13), Thames Valley Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing and at this stage no arrests have been made. 

Cordons have been removed and officers no longer remain at the scene for both incidents.

On Monday afternoon (August 12), the force stated that it is 'investigating firearms incidents in Oxford' which are believed to be connected and targeted.

At around 4.30pm on Sunday (August 11), officers received a report of a gunshot outside a property in Weymann Terrace.

Police said nobody was inside the property at the time and there were no injuries, and that there is 'no threat to the wider public'. 

Officers were then called to Warren Crescent, Headington, at around 1.30am on Monday following another report of a gunshot.

Nobody sustained injuries.

Yesterday householders shared their shock at the incidents.

One resident, who lives in Saunders Road and asked to remain anonymous, told the Oxford Mail: "It's a bit worrying in your own street.

"I've been here a long time and never had any personal issues.

"I've never seen anything like this before outside the doorstep."

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "If anyone witnessed anything or has information, they should report it online or call 101, quoting 43240384658 for the incident at Weymann Terrace and 43240385272 for the incident at Warren Crescent.”
