A couple are celebrating after building their holiday letting business into a major success in four years.
Brendan and Catherine Jenkins have transformed Bridge Lake Farm, in Chacombe, near Banbury, into a popular holiday escape.
The disused railway tunnel was renovated, becoming a holiday let known as 'The Tunnel'.
The couple also installed two holiday lodges, named Acorn Lodge and Willow Lodge.
The first two lodges were delivered just before the UK lockdown in 2020. With the nation under restrictions, the couple used the time to finalise the interiors.
As soon as restrictions were lifted, the lodges were an immediate hit with holidaymakers.
The couple added three more lodges, Oak, Maple and the Shepherds Hut in 2021.
Mr Jenkins, a qualified electrician and plumber, constructed one out of a shipping container and also installed a log-fired hot tub for each property.
The site does not allow cars, with guests parking at the top of the area and driven down in golf buggies to avoid excess fumes and noise.
The lodges have secured 240 bookings this year and generate an average annual gross income in excess of £150,000.
Mr Jenkins said: “It has been a real journey getting to this point with Bridge Lake Farm and we’re really proud to be able to now offer six brilliant properties.
“We’ve worked hard to bring our vision to life, as well as implement guest feedback where possible."
