A team of engineers have won three awards in recognition of their "dedication and hard work".

The team from Stagecoach West, which operates buses across Oxfordshire, triumphed at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) Skills Challenge Awards, which highlight the skills and dedication of those in the industry.

Competing against other bus operators at the British Motor Museum in Warwick, Adam Wiggett, Dan Price, Craig Carter and Leszek Moszkowicz clinched the Outstanding Qualified Team award.

Mr Carter also won the Best Electrical Technician award, while Mr Price was runner up in the Vehicle Inspection task.

Participants faced a series of practical and theoretical tests to assess their skills in various aspects of vehicle maintenance, including electrical systems, braking systems and diagnostics.

Tom Large, engineering director at Stagecoach West, said: "Huge congratulations to our team, who really delivered at this year’s IRTE Skills Challenge Awards - what an incredible result.

"The process is rigorous and complex so to come away, collectively, with three accolades is no mean feat.

“All four have either completed apprenticeships or official training qualifications with us, so to be recognised at these prestigious awards pays testament to the quality of our training programme and the hard work and dedication of the individuals involved.”

The awards aim to highlights top performance to encourage a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
