Two Oxfordshire watering holes are finalists of the esteemed Great British Pub Awards. 

The Great British Pub Awards celebrates "the finest pubs in the UK" with a wide range of categories including 'Best Pub for Families', 'Best Pub Garden', 'Best Pub for Entertainment' and more.

The Dolphin in Wallingford and The Royal Oak Ramsden near Witney are among the finalists.

The Dolphin has been nominated for 'Greene King Pub of the Year' and the Royal Oak Ramsden has been nominated for 'Best Sustainable Pub'. 

In a statement, The Dolphin said: "As a team we have worked incredibly hard to help where we can within our local community since lockdown.

"We are so very proud that as a team our efforts are recognised.

!I’d like to say a big thank you and well done to everyone that has helped and supported us whilst we help and support where needed. 

"We will be going to the great British pub awards in Manchester to find out if we are bringing home this year's top honour - wish us luck."

The Great British Pub Awards 2024 will take place on Tuesday, September 17 at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. 

The website says the event, hosted by actor and presenter Ralf Little, is a a "chance for you and your team to gain the recognition you deserve, catch up with industry leaders, and share in the celebration of our wonderful sector".
