A cafe bar in Banbury opened its doors to customers for the first time since relocating last weekend.

Pinto Lounge has moved to the Waterfront in Castle Quay Shopping Centre having previously been situated at 21 High Street.

It welcomed customers to its new location for the first time on Saturday, August 24.

The new premises look and feel very similar to the old location, but the new site is bigger and has a covered terrace.

Gemma Irwin, head of community at The Lounges, which runs Pinto Lounge, said: "We absolutely love the new Pinto Lounge and have settled in nicely already. Everyone at Castle Quay has been incredibly welcoming.

"The location may have changed but our excellent food and drink, eclectic interiors and top-notch hospitality remain very much the same."

The opening of Pinto Lounge marks a significant moment for Castle Quay Shopping Centre as its Waterfront is now fully let.

The cafe bar joins The Light, Nando’s, The Greenhouse on the Terrace, and PizzaExpress at the site.

Councillor Lesley McLean, deputy leader of Cherwell District Council and portfolio holder for finance and resources, said: "It is great news that the Waterfront at Castle Quay is now fully let and is a clear indication of a growing local economy, Banbury’s increasing appeal and our efforts to create a thriving town centre.

"We are thrilled to welcome Pinto Lounge as the final piece of this puzzle. They are a perfect fit for Castle Quay's vibrant food, drink, and leisure scene and we are confident they will further boost the draw for visitors.

“As this new administration focuses on realising local visions across the district, this also acts as a further reminder that Banbury is a great place to live, work, explore, and enjoy.”

Oliver Wren, centre director at Castle Quay Shopping Centre, added: "This is a hugely exciting time for Castle Quay and represents a significant step forward in strengthening the dining offer at the centre even further.

"We know Pinto Lounge has grown to become a much-loved presence in the community and are excited to see this local business take its next step of growth here at Castle Quay.

"With its unique menu and inviting atmosphere, Pinto Lounge perfectly complements our existing mix of restaurants, shops, and leisure activities, creating an even more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits.

"We’ve had a great relationship with the team throughout and I’m very happy with how their restaurant looks and have great confidence that they’ll love their new location - as will their customers.”
