Pumpkins carving, a scavenger hunt, and book readings will entertain visitors to a country estate near Henley this Halloween
Stonor Park’s 850-year-old estate will host a range of activities in its gardens and adventure playground, Tumblestone Hollow, from October 19 to November 3.
There will be readings from 'The Moon Witch and The Thief', a children's book written for the park by Amy Sparkes.
The story, part of the Tumblestone Tales series, tells of a Moon Witch who attempts to snatch the special moon stone to unearth its powerful secrets.
Lord Camoys, custodian of Stonor Park, said: "Our wonderful children’s book is based on a witch’s adventure and dastardly tricks, so it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy special readings from the book, with a spooky trail and frightful pumpkin patch all set in the picturesque parkland and playground.
“Stonor Park and Tumblestone Hollow transform into an enchanting and eerie wonderland for Halloween, offering a magical walk filled with spine-tingling surprises and captivating stories.”
Other activities include a scavenger hunt, which will see children find clues and piece together rhymes and riddles to win a chocolate prize.
Visitors can also dress up in their most frightening outfits, with prizes for the best costumes.
Families can pick their own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch and children will be able to carve them during their visit.
