A climbing centre is supporting people to raise money for good causes.

Clip 'n Climb Bicester is introducing 'FUNdraising Fridays' to help individuals raise money for their favourite charities, schools, groups, or sports clubs.

Keely Weir, the managing director of Clip 'n Climb Bicester, said: "We get a number of people asking if they can do a sponsored climb to raise charity cash and, following Toby Roberts' recent Olympic success, this is likely to become an even more popular way of generating funds.

"However, it is not easy to incorporate a fundraising activity within our normal climbing sessions, we have therefore decided to offer exclusive Climbathon sessions for those wishing to raise charity cash."

These Climbathon sessions are designed for confident climbers aged four and over, challenging them to climb as many walls as possible within a set time.

The 90-minute sessions include a Climbathon briefing, warm-up, and 30 minutes of sponsored climbing time.

The cost is £30 for up to 15 climbers.

Clip 'n Climb will provide clickers to keep track of each climber's achievements and offer squash and water to keep them hydrated.

Each climber will also receive a certificate recording their success.

The Climbathon sessions will take place on selected Friday afternoons from 5pm.

Ms Weir added "We are really looking forward to our FUNdraising Fridays and to helping people raise cash for their chosen good cause."
