Hundreds of people enjoyed lots of different events at Abingdon's annual Heritage Weekend.

Morris dancers entertained shoppers in the town's market place on Saturday.

There were a wide variety of events organised by The Friends of Abingdon Civic Society, the town council, Abingdon County Hall Museum, and Abingdon Area Archaeology and History Society.

The town's Traditional Morris Dancers performed in the market place at lunchtime, before events and exhibitions in different locations continued throughout the two days.

Classic cars including MGs were on display in the market place on Sunday, and Iron Age crafts were on show at the Abbey Buildings.

Model railway enthusiast Ivan Cadge was there to show off his model of the town's railway station, which closed to passengers in 1963.

Mr Cadge said he had worked on his model for many years and enjoyed exhibiting it several times a year.

The site where the station used to be is now occupied by Waitrose.

Properties throughout the town were opened up to the public, including St Ethelwold's House, Christ's Hospital Hall, and the Abbey Buildings.

Also open were the Guildhall, St Helen's and St Nicolas' churches, the Baptist Church and 35 Ock Street, Kimber House - the MG Museum, and the Old Ticket Office at Culham.

This year's theme for the heritage weekend was 'transport, routes and connections'.
