Jeremy Clarkson’s blunder with a fire alarm has seen his Oxfordshire pub evacuated.

The 64-year-old recently purchased The Windmill pub in Asthill near Burford for around £1,000,000 before renaming it The Farmer’s Dog.

Having opened to the public last month, Mr Clarkson has been welcoming in customers from afar ever since with the pub remaining busy each day.

Problems arose on Friday morning however which led to the punters being disturbed by a smoke detector alarm.

Taking to social media platform X on Friday morning, Mr Clarkson said: “Publicans. When installing a new oven, ensure it’s not positioned under a smoke detector.

“Or you will end up spoiling the dining experience for your customers.”

The new pub is located close to the former Top Gear host’s farm which can be found in Chadlington, near Chipping Norton.
