Police made more than 100 arrests for impaired driving across the Cherwell and West Oxfordshire areas over a three-month period earlier this year.

According to information released by the Thames Valley Police Traffic Management Team, police made 135 arrests for impaired driving during the months of April, May and June of this year across the Cherwell and West Oxfordshire areas. Of those incidents 52 were for drink driving and 83 of the incidents were for drug driving.

During the same three-month period officers issued 169 fixed penalty notices to drivers for mobile phone, seatbelt and speeding violations across the same areas of the county.

Between April and June police issued 37 fixed penalty notices for mobile phone usage in a vehicle, 52 seatbelt violations and 80 speeding violations.
