A traffic warning has been issued as a popular air show gets underway in Oxfordshire.

The annual Abingdon Air Show, which takes place at Abingdon Air Field, started this morning (September 21) at 10am.

Oxfordshire County Council warned motorists to "expect delays and high levels of pedestrian activity" ahead of the major event starting.

A number of road closures are in place, which are: Honeybottom Lane, from 7am until 6pm; Blackhorse Lane, from 1pm until 4.30pm; and Barrow Road from 1pm until 4.30pm.

The annual air and country show was due to take place in May but was postponed at short notice.

This year the event will feature flying displays, live music, husky dogs arena demonstrations, a large number of classic vehicles, crafts and trade stalls as well as amusements, radio-controlled jet models, a bar, refreshments and more.

The festival has raised more than £100,000 for various charities since it launched in 2000 and organisers have said it costs around £80,000 a year to stage the air show.
