The whole of Oxfordshire has been affected by severe flooding today, Monday 23 September.

A Met Office amber weather warning is now covering all of Oxfordshire, previously only covering parts of west and north Oxfordshire. 

Janine Quibell, who lives in Bucknell Village near Bicester, experienced flooding in her garden. 

She told the Oxford Mail: "I can’t get to the back yet as it’s pretty deep. This keeps happening year in year out drains are overflowing again and not coping with the amount of rain." 

She added that the water is close to coming into her house.

A motorist also told the Oxford Mail there was an "actual lake" by the Mini Plant in Oxford.

A wet start in the north as an area of prolonged heavy rain slowly clears north, allowing bright or sunny spells to develop for most. Largely dry but the odd isolated shower is possible in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Low cloud, rain and drizzle will slowly edge eastwards overnight, reaching East Sussex and Kent by dawn. Any precipitation is expected to be light and patchy though. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rather cloudy and wet on Wednesday, with heavy rain at times. Changeable with rain and heavy showers on Thursday. Windy, feeling cool on Friday, with sunny spells and showers.
