Thousands of people enjoyed displays Abingdon's Air and Country Show.

The rescheduled event took place at Abingdon Airfield next to Dalton Barracks on Saturday.

The sun shone for the event, which usually attracts about 10,000 people and raises thousands of pounds for charities including Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

There were aerobatic displays and planes on display on the ground.

The show had been due to take place on Saturday, May 18 and was then rescheduled due to technical difficulties.

Organiser Neil Porter said earlier the rescheduling was due to factors which were "outside his control".

(Image: Ed Nix) He added that all privately owned aircraft that were due to attend for either the static displays or air displays were not allowed to land, even though they had done so the previous 23 years.

Planes in the air included the Hurricane R4118, which was delivered new to 605 (County of Warwick) Squadron in August 1940.

During the Battle of Britain it flew 49 sorties from Croydon and shot down five enemy aircraft.
