An inquest has opened after an Oxfordshire villager who works as a film extra was found dead at his home.

Laurence Woodbridge, of Buckthorne Lane in Cholsey near Wallingford, died on August 6. 

The inquest was opened by senior coroner Darren Salter at Oxford Coroner's Court on Wednesday.

The inquest heard that Mr Woodbridge, 76, worked as a film extra. 

He was identified by Wing Commander Thomas Drinkel at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington using dental records. 

After a post-mortem, Mr Woodbridge's cause of death was given as being unascertained. 

A full inquest will be now be held at Oxford Coroner's Court on January 15 next year with a scheduled start time of 2pm.
