A man in his 70s was assaulted outside a bus stop in Oxford, sparking a police investigation. 

Officers investigating an incident of assault are releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

At around 9.30pm on Saturday, June 29, a man aged in his seventies, was assaulted at the bus stop outside BBC Radio Oxford in Banbury Road.

The victim sustained bruising to his lip, but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Edward Lee said: “I am releasing an image of a man who I believe may have vital information that can assist this investigation.

“If you recognise this person, or you believe this to be you, I would ask you to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police either online via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference 43240310106.

“I would also again appeal to anybody who was in the area on the day of the assault to contact us if you have any information that may assist this investigation.”
