Banbury and Bicester College is set to welcome prospective students for an open day next weekend.

The college will showcase its range of programmes at its autumn open event on Saturday, October 12, from 9.30am to midday at its Broughton Road campus.

Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to various subject area presentations, meet current students, and learn more about day-to-day life at the college.

The open day will provide information about GCSEs and business, accounting, travel and tourism, science, and forensics programmes.

Those interested in fast-tracking their way to university can learn about the Access to Higher Education programmes, and there will also be opportunities to speak with T Level tutors and discover apprenticeship programmes.

The college's state-of-the-art care suite will offer a realistic hospital setting for visitors to experience and tours of the construction, carpentry, engineering, and motor vehicle workshops will also be available.

Those with special educational needs or those looking to improve their English skills can find out about the support on offer.

Activate Learning staff and careers advisors will be on hand throughout the day to discuss options and help plan learning pathways, while the student services team will be available to discuss bursaries and financial support.

Banbury and Bicester College said it supports students in developing skills needed for the workplace.

Its learning programmes "lead directly into sustainable career options, and the college can help you identify where your studies can take you," it added.

Harry Watts, who completed a Business Level 3 Extended Diploma at Banbury and Bicester College in July, said: "Attending the open event provided me with a good insight into what was available for me at Banbury and Bicester College.

Banbury and Bicester College is part of the Activate Learning group, alongside five other colleges.

These are City of Oxford College, Guildford College, Reading College, Merrist Wood College, Farnham College, and Bracknell and Wokingham College.
