A haystack fire that has resulted in the loss of 600 bales sparked a major response from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue.
Four fire crews from Witney, Charlbury and Kidlington were called to fire in large bales of straw which partially collapsed next to the A40 yesterday (October 8).
One witness driving past the scene described the blaze as "30 feet high".
Today (October 9) a spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said one fire engine from Burford is still in attendance and they have "maintained a presence overnight".
The spokesperson added: "We are in the process of handing over to the landowner following a total loss of 600 bales."

The fire service posted a picture of the fire in Curbridge near Witney at 11.07pm last night, urging residents to "be mindful" if in the area and to "keep windows closed from the smoke plume".
A statement from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Crews are in attendance at a haystack fire near Curbridge, Witney.
"The fire started at approximately 2.10pm on Tuesday (October 8) afternoon and is likely to be burning for some time.
"We will be on scene monitoring to ensure it does not spread."
