A Greggs bakery had its front window smashed after a fight broke out between two teenagers during a south Oxfordshire town centre incident.

The boys aged around 14 to 17 years old got into an argument outside the shop in Wantage Market Square at around 7.05pm on Friday, October 11.

The window was smashed leaving one of the boys with an injury to his hand, police have said.

Police said they have been able to identify the injured male and can confirm he received the appropriate medical treatment.

The force is now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and, in particular, an adult male who they believe may have taken images of the incident before leaving the area, possibly on a bus.

"It is believed at this time that the youths involved are known to one another and as such we do not believed there to be any risk to the wider public," a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and quote the reference number 43240490583.

Police guidance states you should call 999 in an emergency if there is an immediate danger to life or someone is using violence or threatening to be violent.

If it is not an emergency, police say people should report it to the force online or via the control room.
