A motorcyclist has been hospitalised with a serious injury following a crash in Oxfordshire.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when there was a road-traffic collision on the A418 London Road near J8A Westbound of the M40.

At the time of writing, the road remains partially blocked causing long delays while Thames Valley Police attend the scene.

Officers have informed the Oxford Mail that a motorcyclist was involved and has been hospitalised with a serious leg injury.

Commenting at 9am, a Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “This is a serious injury collision between a motorcycle and a car.

“The A40 has one lane currently blocked from Wheatley towards the Oxford Services at present but is likely to be clear within the next 30 minutes.

“The motorcyclist, who is a male, has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.”
