The latest court cases in Oxford Magistrates' Court:

DAVID MITCHELL, 64, of Purslane, Abingdon, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating on October 26 last year. He was fined £675 and an order was made for him not to contact the victim directly or indirectly. There were court costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £270.

MATTHEW COX, 45, of Henry Taut Close, Headington, indicated guilty to 22 counts of theft from a shop from stores across Oxford this year. He was jailed for 38 weeks. There were court costs of £85.

JAMES GRANITO, 47, of Keene Acres, Faringdon, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Wantage on December 28 last year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £200. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £80.

ANGE MBAKI, 33, of HMP Bullingdon, pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency worker in Abingdon on August 27 last year. They were ordered to pay £100 in compensation. There were court costs of £85.

JAMES JONES, 39, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive words, behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress on October 10 last year in Gosford. He wad fined £100 and was ordered not to go on the towpath of the Oxford Canal from Dukes Lock up to the A44. There were no orders for costs.

JUNIOR AVERILLO, 37, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in High Street, Banbury on September 28 this year, and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker on September 29 this year in Abingdon. He was jailed for 10 weeks. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £239.

SONNY LINDO, 40, of Eastern Avenue, Oxford, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage at Littlemore Hospital on August 14 last year by damaging an iPad. He also pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker on the same day in the same location. He was given a community order to complete six months of mental health treatment and 10 days of rehabilitation activity. There was an order for £300 in compensation. There were no orders for costs.
