Firefighters were called to a residential street near Oxford city centre.

A fire engine was spotted on Magdalen Road off Cowley by a member of the public at around 4pm today Saturday, October 19.

Firefighters could be seen holding tools at the scene and walking up and down the road but no flames or smoke was witnessed.

"I saw this just as it was finishing at the last minute," they said.

"Two firefighters were carrying tools and putting them back in their vehicle so seems like something must have happened."

The Oxford Mail has approached Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service for further details on the incident.
