This Sunday (October 27) is National Black Cat Day, so this week on Looking Back, we’re picking out our favourite cat pictures from the Oxford Mail archive.
Everybody loves a cat picture, but not everybody loves a black cat – Cats Protection launched a campaign to help celebrate darker-furred felines after it was revealed that black cats spent more time waiting for adoption than any other colour.
Especially around the spooky Halloween season, black cats can be thought to bring bad luck or represent something sinister.
