Police in the Chipping Norton area arrested a man and seized a vehicle for "not having insurance". 

Officers have been out and about in a number of villages and farms to tackle rural crime, hare coursing and anti-social behaviour. 

In a statement issued on Tuesday Thames Valley Police West Oxfordshire said: “You may have noticed an increased presence in the Chipping Norton area and surrounding villages today.

“The Rural Crime Team, Problem Solving Team and the West Oxfordshire Neighbourhood Team have been out on an operation today.

West Oxfordshire police (Image: Facebook) “We have been patrolling the farms, fields and villages in the area as part of Operation Trail and to tackle rural crime and hare coursing.”

The statement added: “We engaged with numerous farms and rural villages to tackle the problems with Rural Crime and ASB in the area. 

“Officers seized a motor vehicle for no insurance and a male was arrested for other offences where they were taken to custody. 

“We do take every report made seriously and put operations together based on what has been reported and trends that are identified, we will continue to tackle these issues regularly and show as much presence as we can where issues have been reported.”

Police were patrolling villages such as Shipton Under Wychwood, Chadlington, Burford, Kingham, Charlbury, Finstock and Enstone.
