A public health doctor in her earlier career, Dr Hill has had a longstanding passion for cycling.

Her journey advocating for cycling and cyclists began in 2005 with Cycling England, an independent body funded by the Department of Transport, before moving on to Cyclox in 2008.

A statement from Mr Loader on the Cyclox website says: "I feel honoured and privileged to be chosen as the new Chair of Cyclox.

"I am also a little daunted. Alison Hill has led the organisation with commitment, tenacity and skill for many years.

"She leaves the post with Cyclox in good health – and with big shoes to fill. But mainly I am excited about taking on this role.

"I am passionately committed to Cyclox’s values and goals and look forward to working with the trustees and our members to take them forward."

Cyclox campaigns to put "cycling at the heart of Oxford’s future" and aims to get more people cycling, more often, and more safely in and around Oxford.
