A former nursery in Oxford could be converted into a veterinary surgery if plans are permitted.
Applicant James Cessford wants to covert the building in Cuddesdon Way and has submitted a planning application to Oxford City Council.
So far, the application has had no public comments in support or objection.
In the planning statement, it said: “The application site comprises a single storey commercial property which is accessed from Cuddesdon Way to the north.
"The application building was formerly operated as a children’s day nursery and was owned by the local council.

“The proposed development would result in limited alterations to the exterior of the application building, with works largely limited to modest internal alterations that do not amount to operational development.
"The only external alterations relate to a small link walkway linking the two wings of the building to provide internal circulation within the building.
“Existing parking areas to the side of the application building would be utilised to provide off street parking for members of staff and animals owners alike.”
It added: “It is considered that the proposed use would represent a betterment to the existing lawful position.
"The use of the site as a children’s day nursery would result in an intensification of parking demands at the start and end of the day during drop off and pick up times.
“Whereas the use of the site as a veterinary practice would result in trips to the site being spread out over the day and as such less intensified parking demands and as such reduce the potential for on-street parking when compared to the lawful use.”
A decision will be made on the application by the city council's planning committee in due course.
